Viva St. John Calabria!

Taytay: This year’s Jubilee celebration on the feast of St. John Calabria was so great and memorable as the Calabrian Family in the Philippines had gathered here in Luzon for the big event. Delegates from Visayas and Mindanao were received tenderly and graciously with programs and agapes by the PSDP Religious, Calabrian Formation School Staff, Brother Francisco Perez Clinic Staff, and San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish officers.


Novena Masses: The 150th Jubilee Celebration was blessed by programs and activities of the Calabrian Family: It started with the 9 Day Novena Masses at San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish last September 29 and ended on October 7. PSDP Religious were availably presided all Eucharistic Celebrations and were attended by parishioners and officers of various chapels.


Medical Mission: Within that span of time, before the Fiesta Celebration, the Brother Francisco Perez Clinic had their Medical Mission headed by Fr. Ronaldo Eborde and all Medical Staff of BFPC. The Doctors, Nurses, and other Volunteers showcased their skills in helping those who were in necessity. Patients were given health checkup, medicines, and vitamins for their need. There were almost 500 person who avail the said Med-Mission. Thanks to those who took part of the mission.


Calabrian Family Day: Two days before the Fiesta, delegates were received warmly by the Religious and Parish officers. Then, on October 7 the Calabrian Family gathered in CFS covered court for the Family Day. The celebration was delighted with games, sharing of the life of Calabria, and talk show. Delegates from Visayas and Mindanao also participated cheerfully in the family day. The celebration started at 8:00am and ended 3:00 in the afternoon.


Feast Day: The feast day Celebration started with a procession of the Image of St. John Calabria within the vicinity of San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish around 3:00 in the afternoon which was followed by the Holy Eucharist presided by Bishop Noly Buco, auxiliary Bishop of Antipolo Diocese. The celebration was participated also by Religious Priests and Sisters from various congregations and San Lorenzo Ruiz Parishioners. The fiesta mass was followed by program and agape held at Calabrian Covered Court. In the program there were various presentations offered: Delegates from Mindanao participated, CFS Students, BFPC staff, EMHC of SLRP, the PSDP Religious and postulants, and the Parish Youth Ministry of San Lorenzo presented the life of St. John Calabria through Theatre; Award were also given to those who served in the Calabrian Family for almost 20 years. Thanks to the availability and presence of all who took part of the Jubilee feast day, they made the celebration great and blessed.
