NFH House Community Joins Chrism Mass and 115th Anniversary of the Diocese of Calbayog

Calbayog City - Today, April 10, 2025, the Nazareth Formation House Community joins the Bishop and Clergy of the Diocese of Calbayog for the celebration of the Chrism Mass at the Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral, Calbayog City, Samar.

This sacred celebration honors the institution of the Holy Priesthood, with the Bishop presiding and the clergy concelebrating. During the Mass, the Holy Chrism is consecrated and the Oil of the Infirm is blessed—expressing the unity of the priests with their Bishop in the ministry of Christ.

Although usually held on Holy Thursday, the Chrism Mass is celebrated earlier in the Diocese for pastoral reasons, especially to allow island parishes to join.

Providentially, this day also marks the 115th Anniversary of the Diocese of Calbayog, established on April 10, 1910 by St. Pope Pius X.
