Feast Day of St. John Calabria Celebrated in Brgy. Sta. Ana, Taytay, Rizal

Taytay, Rizal – Last October 6, 2024, the St. John Calabria Chapel Community in SAKBIT, Brgy. Sta. Ana, Taytay, Rizal, celebrated the feast day of their patron saint, St. John. The celebration started with a Mass at 10:00am and it was presided over by Fr. Melchizedek de Lara, PSDP.

There was a planned procession. Unfortunately, due to rain, the procession was canceled, but the community remained in good spirits, and still gathered for the Eucharistic Celebration.

In his homily, Fr. Melchizedek highlighted the importance of family, especially for the children who attended the mass. He encouraged them to be fully present for each other, noting that strong family bonds are built on shared moments of presence and care.

After the Mass, a baptism was held, welcoming the new members in the Catholic faith.

Their feast day was celebrated on a Sunday because the said community will participate in the feast day celebration on October 8, 2024, in San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish Taytay, Rizal.

The community is one of the newest chapels in San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish. But despite this, it is undeniable that all community members are working hard to provide a place of worship to God. Their chapel may be new, but their faith has been steadfast and deeply-rooted.

The feast day was a meaningful occasion, reminding everyone of St. John Calabria’s teachings on family, service, and compassion, values that continue to inspire the local community.
