Easter Vigil at San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish: A Night of Faith and Renewal

Taytay, Rizal - The Easter Vigil  at San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish was a solemn and joyous occasion, bringing together the faithful in a centralized celebration, with all chapels participating. This most sacred liturgical event was beautifully structured into four parts: The Service of Light, the Liturgy of the Word, the Liturgy of Baptism, and the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

The vigil began at 8:00 PM which was presided by Rev. Fr. Ronaldo Eborde, PSDP, con-celebrated by Fr. Ronnie and Fr. John Mark, with the blessing of fire and the Paschal candle, a sign of Christ’s resurrection. The faithful then immersed themselves in five scripture readings, tracing God’s salvific plan throughout history. The Litany of Saints resonated through the church as prayers were lifted in preparation for the Liturgy of Baptism. It was a moment of grace as five Catechumens were welcomed into the Church through the sacrament of Baptism, marking a new chapter in their spiritual journey.

The celebration culminated in the Liturgy of the Eucharist, where the faithful, having journeyed through the depth of preparation and reflection, received Christ in Holy Communion. The night was a testimony to faith, renewal, and the triumph of light over darkness—a true embodiment of Easter’s joy.
