Diocese of Calbayog Opens Jubilee Year 2025

Calbayog City – The Diocese of Calbayog officially began the Jubilee Year 2025 today, 29th of December 2024, with the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.” The event gathered priests, religious, seminarians, and lay faithful in a spirit of prayer and unity.

Rain or shine, the faithful participated with devotion. The day started with an opening rite at the Poor Clares Monastery. From there, a solemn procession made its way to the Cathedral of Calbayog. Along the journey, participants sang hymns and prayed, reflecting the deep faith and hope of the diocese.

Upon arriving at the Cathedral, the Door of Mercy was blessed and opened, a symbolic act inviting all to experience God’s mercy and to share hope with others.

The celebration concluded with a Eucharistic Mass, officially marking the start of the Jubilee Year. The Diocese of Calbayog now embarks on this sacred year, calling everyone to walk together in faith, hope, and love.
