Celebration of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of Mary

CALBAYOG CITY: On December 8, 2022, Nazareth Formation House (NFH) community celebrated the Holy Mass at our grotto in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary's Immaculate Conception. As a sign of love and deep devotion to Mama Mary, the aspirants presented her with beautiful flowers. In his letters, St. John Calabria exhorted us to have great faith in her Motherly care. This day also culminated our monthly recollection which began the other day. Mary, the model of obedience to God's Word, taught us to be good instruments of God by imitating her virtues.

This day is especially significant for Filipinos because of their strong devotion to the Heavenly Mother. On September 12, 1942, Pope Pius XII designated Mary as the Patroness of the Philippines under the title of the Immaculate Conception. Aside from that, the Philippine government has declared this day a special non-working holiday. This is to express the Filipino people's religiosity and faith, as well as their love for Mama Mary.
