Calabrian Youth Meeting
Cagayan de Oro City: In the morning of this day, 13 July 2024, the Calabrian Youth in Cagayan de Oro was gathered for a meeting in the terrace of the religious house of the Calabrians in Brgy. Bayabas. Fr. Mark Jonnel Magos, PSDP, the in-charge of the formation of the Calabrian Family facilitated the said meeting. He was accompanied by Br. Ardiomer Amabao, PSDP, the in-charge of the Calabrian Youth, and Fr. Ronnie Lapara, PSDP, the outgoing executive director of Calabrian Children’s Foundation, Inc.
In this meeting, they talked about their rich experiences of being in the Calabrian family and they also pointed out the challenges and difficulties that they too have experienced in balancing their work and studies while participating to the activities of the Calabrian Youth. They also came up with some proposed activities that hope to strengthen their bond as Calabrian Youth and members of the Calabrian Family.
It is to be noted that for St. John Calabria, the founder of the Congregation of the Poor Servants of Divine Providence (Calabrians), the youth are “beacons of hope.” They can be “bearers of light” in a world beset by darkness and hopelessness.
