Feast of St. John Calabria Celebrated
MANILA: October 08 is the liturgical feast day of our Founder St. John Calabria. To celebrate its solemnity, each religious community, together with PSDP Sisters, organized different activities.
Primarily, there was nine-day novena and mass from September 29 to October 07. It was participated by religious and some lay faithful, friends and collaborators. In Manila, it was done altogether at San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish, with religious brothers and postulants giving some reflections on the theme of each day of novena. On its feast day, there was procession, followed by solemn Eucharistic celebration with Fr. Alito as Mass Presider, adoration, then lunch agape at the covered court of Calabrian Formation School with PSDP family, lay collaborators, and some friends.
In Calbayog, there was children’s party on October 3. The children came from different apostolate areas. On its feast day, there was adoration in the morning, and in the afternoon Eucharistic celebration presided over by Bishop Isabelo Abrquez and concelebrated by some religious and diocesan priests. There was also the presence of some religious, brothers and sisters from different congregations and orders, and some friends and lay collaborators. After the Mass, there was dinner and program.
In Cagayan de Oro, there was Eucharistic celebration presided by Fr. Jun Balsamo, the Parish Priest of Miraculous Medal (Lumbia) Parish where our community is part of. It was concelebrated by our religious priests and other visiting priests. There was also the presence of other religious from different congregations and orders, and some friends and lay collaborators. After the mass, there were dinner and program with presentations from our residents of Calabrian Children’s Foundation.
